A. By motorbike,
bus, taxi or boat:
1. Poros - Perlia - Neorio
(3 Km by vehicle or boat)
From there you can continue up to the Love's
Bay and the Russian
Dockyard by
motorbike,
car or on foot.
2. Poros
- Askeli – Monastery of Zoodohos
Pygi (5 Km.)
By
car or boat.
3. Poros - Vrisoula
- Temple of Poseidon
or Vagionia (8 Km.)
Go
around the island by motorbike or
by car..
4. Poros - Alykes – the
islet of Bourtzi
(3Km.)
By car from Galata or by boat from Poros
5. Poros - Galatas - Lemonodasos
(3Km.)
In less than ten minutes you can get to
Plaka by boat and from there, quite quickly,
to the Lemonodasos. You can also drive
there from Galata.
6. Poros - Galatas - Magoula
(5 Km.)
The Royal Tombs of
Magoulas are approximately
5km. from Galata. You can go there by
car from Galata.
7. Poros - Trizina - Diavologefyro
(10Km.)
The beautiful village of Trizina is ten
kilometers away from Galata where the
ruins of ancient
Trizina and springs of
the river Illikou are situated in a verdant
gorge full of trees. The Diavologefyro,
where Theseus had founded the sanctuary
of the Bride Afrodite. You can go by car
from Galata
Β. By car
1. Poros - Metochi
(Hydra island)
A half an hour drive from Galata, following
a wonderful coastal route you will come
across Metohi, a beach opposite the island
of Hydra, where there is space to park
your car. From Metohi you can go across
to Hydra with the boat "FREEDOM" NY
1058 that has daily departures, every hour, or call a sea
taxi.
2. Poros - Methana -
Vathi
From Galata going towards Athens, you
encounter a road that branches out to the
right leading to Methana, which you reach
in approximately half an hour. If you would
like to go any further, you will end up
in a fishing village called Vathi known
for its excellent seafood restaurants and
you can go for a swim at the beach there.
3. Poros - Ermioni -
Kosta - Spetses island or Porto Cheli
Following the coastal road from Galata,
after Metohi, you reach Ermioni in an
hour. If you would like to continue, about
an hour and a half longer, you will reach
Costa which is located opposite the island
of Spetses.. There is a big area to park
your car in Costa and go over to Spetses
by boat or water taxi. You can also visit
Porto Heli which is 10 minutes away from
Costa.
C. By ferry boat
Daily cruises are arranged going around
Poros as well as the neighboring Argosaronic
islands like Agistri-Aegina-Hydra and
Spetses
D. By boat or coach (tour bus)
We organize day trips
by coach to Mycenae and Nafplio.
In July and August excursions to the Epidavros
Festival are
organized.
Ε. There is access to Aegina, Methana,
Hydra, Spetses, Porto Heli and Ermioni by ship.
The
ideal location of Poros provides an excellent
choice for daily trips around the area.
You can hop on the flying dolphin from
Piraeus at 9 a.m. and visit one of the
nearby islands such as Hydra
, Spetses, Porto Heli or Ermioni, and
then go back to Poros with the flying
dolphin in the evening.
You
can also catch the 10.45 a.m. ferry to
visit Methana or Aegina and return to Poros
in the evening. (From Aegina you can go
to Agkistri by water taxi ).
